Kidsville at the Parthenon


Join us for Kidsville at the Parthenon on Saturdays in July from 11-11:45 AM. Families with children ages 12 and under can enter the Parthenon for free on these dates and times. A Kidsville team member will be taking registrations at the entrance of the Parthenon beginning at 10:30 AM. We will be located upstairs in Parthenon's Naos room that houses Athena unless otherwise noted. Kidsville registration ends at 11:20 AM.

JULY SCHEDULE

July 2 - Explore the book, “The Carpenter’s Helper” by Sybil Rosen and Camille Garoche with Imagination Library, then make art inspired by the book. 

July 9 - Hear a Greek Mythology tale of the source of inspiration, the Muses, then create your own muse game inspired by the story and the exhibit on display.

July 16 - Explore music of the 1897 Centennial Exposition and more with musician, composer, and professor, Dr. Gary Nash of Fisk University, then create your own musical instrument. 

July 23 - Hear about the bravery of Odysseus's son, Telemachus in Greek Mythology, then create a "Be Brave" poster inspired by the story and the exhibit on display.

July 30 - Learn about the real life businessman who invented "The Pet Rock" and hear a reading of the book, Petra by Marianna Coppo, then create your own pet rock to take home.
