Kidsville at the Parthenon in August

Join us for Kidsville at the Parthenon each Saturday from 11-11:45 AM in August. Families with children ages 12 and under can enter the Parthenon for free on these dates and times. A Kidsville team member will be taking registrations at the entrance of the Parthenon beginning at 10:30 AM. Kidsville will be located upstairs in Parthenon's Naos room that houses Athena.

AUGUST ACTIVITIES

August  7 - Explore the storybook, “A House is a House for Me” with our friends from Imagination Library. After reading the story, create your own craft inspired by the book.

August 14 - Learn about the mathematical wonders of the Antikythera Mechanism, a device found on the ocean floor that may be the first computer. Then make your own art inspired by the mechanism.

August 21 - Dive into the Greek Myth of Pandora and a jar full of surprises! After exploring the Greek myth, create your own jar art.

August 28 - Join Kidsville and local choreographer Shabaz Ujima and dancers from shackled feet DANCE will present an excerpt of a contemporary dance work and guide participants in a short movement exercise. After we move our bodies, create your own wire sculpture inspired by dance.
